A four-wheel drive is offered as an option in the 1500 models and is compulsory in the heavy-duty models of the 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche. Notable features include anti-lock disc brakes, monitoring of tire pressure, the StabiliTrak system and traction control in the Z66 package.
